I want to share my gratitude and appreciation to all the generous shipmate supporters who participated in my December 2013 - 2014 Edd Cox Fine Art New Year Fundraiser through the FundRazr website.
Sixteen amazingly wonderful contributors were inspired to come aboard to help raise a total of $770 from December 21st to January 12th, 2014.
I had hoped to raise enough funds through the New Years fundraiser to help the beautiful storefront gallery and studio space at 313 First Avenue South to achieve the full potential and functionality I had envisioned and worked hard to built-out.
These were very difficult seas to sail through as the New Year drew near and most of my efforts were making little headway towards my goal. My solo effort was becoming exhausted as lack of experience, preparation and previous decisions brought the difficult realization that the voyage could not continue as I had imagined.
Artists have great imaginations and enthusiasm to create but are not the best financiers, managers or gallery directors.
The realization that I am a studio artist, rather than a project and gallery manager, became the
catalyst for my decision to close the doors and business at 313 First Avenue in February 2014.
A difficult decision to make but a practical one. And very difficult to acknowledge that the envisioned potential was not unattainable.
The past three year journey has been a great experiential education and a resource that has
illuminated my true capabilities and future potential.
I have consolidated and reestablished my creative practice and returned to a creative studio focus.
Edd Cox Fine Art has relocated one block north at the OK Hotel. A smaller more efficient studio
space with one purpose. To be as creative as possible and build a new fire of the imagination.
Your wonderful support was integral to helping to building the bridge to my new location! I have not forgotten my promise of artworks to share in my appreciation and gratitude for you support which was a corner stone of my relocation.
The studio is just days away from being ready for creative work and your prints will be the first
priority. I hope to have them ready for ArtWalk on April 3rd. I hope that you can join me and if not I will have the artworks opted to you the next day.
Thanks for your patience during this time of transition!
I will keep you posted on the latest progress and you will always have a VIP invitation to all upcoming future events!
In appreciation and gratitude.
All the Best in Each and Every Day! Edd
